21.6 km Week!

Hey everyone!
Today is another warm day in March.  Yesterday was really nice too. Climate change I tell ya. Even though I am in school, I am trying to take advantage of it. Yesterday I ran around trying to organize me residence for next year. Which I got an e-mail today saying I got in! Yay!!
Last night after Pretty Little Liars, I went swimming for an hour! It was nice, I feel all stretched out. I didn’t do laps, I swam in the deep end trying to keep afloat.  I don’t know what it’s called when you stay in one spot in the water moving your legs like you are riding a bike and moving your arms in a circular motion. That’s not really the best description, but oh well.
Today I have been working on an essay. Meghan and I took a little break and went for a walk. I mapped it out on Google maps and it told me that one way was 3.3km. In total Meghan and I walked 6.6km today! Yay!
Since last Friday I:
Friday             Swim          1 hour
Saturday        Jog/run      6km
Sunday          Walking      9 km
Monday         Swim          1 hour
Tuesday        Walking      6.6 km

In the last five days I have walked or jogged 21.6km. Not bad, if I do say so myself. Now I just have to turn those walks into runs. I am getting there! Slowly but surely I am getting there.
The most recent poll is now finished. I asked “what motivates you to hit the gym?” This is the biggest turnout yet! I like seeing that people are taking the time to vote! 44% said their friends motivate them. I think I would have voted that too. 33% said health and 22% said weight. I think that all of those are good reasons to hit the gym. Just keep active. Think the new poll will be, would you ever consider doing a full triathlon?
I hope everyone is enjoying these posts as much as I enjoy writing them. As always I enjoy reading the comments too, so keep them coming!

10km Weekend

Hey everyone,

Saturday was St. Patrick’s Day as most of you know. For me it wasn’t just St. Patrick’s Day, it was the day of my first 10km jog! Well there is a story to that. I didn’t end up doing a 10km jog; I ended up doing a 3.4 km jog and an hour hike in the bush.

Meghan, Jessica and I jogged 3.4km, then there was a huge hill and we didn’t want to run up it. I mean HUGE! If any of you have ever been to Kakabeka Falls national park and camped in the upper campground you know there is a big hill. Well this hill is steeper! Meghan and I thought the conservation path looked like the ones by the school. So we thought 'oh this will take us right back to the school'. We walked it a bit, ended up at a lake. We thought that the school beach was right around the corner so we were like 'let’s just take this dirt path'. Jessica was smart and decided to backtrack and run home that way. Meghan and I ‘followed' the path. We ended up getting lost in the bush for an hour. We were on trails; we just didn’t know where the trail was taking us.  There was still snow and it was melting. My feet were drenched! I was in shorts and a tee-shirt because we were running. So there I was walking through the bush in snow, wearing spandex. Meghan and I were so happy when we finally got back to the school.

Today, Sunday, I decided to walk the 10km.  It is a very nice scenic route.  I went up the huge hill and around the bend to find out that half the route turned into a snow covered dirt road. I walked for about 20-30 min on the snow covered road before turning around. In total I walked about 9 km in 1 hour and 44 min.
Tomorrow, I am going for a swim after Pretty Little Liars! It will be fun! I will get to stretch everything.  I am surprised that I don't have more comments about who A is. I do enjoy the comments, so keep them coming.

Pretty Little Liars

Hey guys and gals,

Today I went for a swim! It was so much fun. I didn't do laps, but I did do some free swimming for an hour. Then I went on the elliptical, but I almost past out after 15 minutes. I think it was because I didn't eat in the morning. I had to stop. My heart was pounding in my ears, I was dizzy and faint.

Last night I walked around the mall for 2 hours. We missed the bus, so we walked 30 minutes to the mall. Today I went grocery shopping, so there is some walking. I have decided to introduce more raw foods into my diet. Tonight Holly and I made our own pizzas! It was fun!

Tomorrow my roommate and I are going to a 10 km run. Well she is, I am going to probably make it 2- 4 km. Jessica might come too if I get up earlier. I am so excited.

In other news, my friends and I watch the show Pretty Little Liars! We know that we get to know who A is on Monday night. For the past two days my friends and I have been trying to figure out who A is. I have a feeling that this is going to be the topic of our conversations for this whole weekend. Right now as I am writing this we are talking about who A is. If anyone watches the show, leave a comment and tell us who you think A is.

Quick Little Update

Hey everyone,

This is just going to be a quick little update on what has been going on. I have been slacking this week. I was supposed to workout yesterday, but I didn't. I went for dinner at my uncles with my sister. I am making up for tonight. I am going for a quick workout, plus I am going to the mall. Walking around the mall burns calories, right? I am not buying anything; I am just going with my roommate.

It is supposed to be in the double digits this weekend, so I am going to map out 10 km and jog/walk it this Saturday. It will take a few hours, but that’s okay. It's all just to see where I am at, so I can start improving.

I plan on getting back on track starting tomorrow. Well tonight, but getting back on the schedule tomorrow. Friday is the day I do all three for an hour each. I haven't been swimming in, oh man I can't remember the last time. It shall be interesting.
Thank you for the support everyone! I really appreciate it. Thank you to all the readers in Canada, the USA, Russia, Singapore, Germany, Latvia, France, the UK, Denmark, Ukraine, Japan and Malaysia! Leave a comment with what country you are reading from or anything other thoughts :)

Missing Teddy

Hey guys and gals,

I am going to start off talking about working out. This weekend I slacked. I went for 30 minutes on the weekend. That's not nearly as much as I wanted, but things came up. I was busy this weekend. Friday night I went to a hockey game. We won, no big deal :P Saturday night I went to a formal and danced. I went for a 30 minute workout and I dancing counts as a workout so I got some exercise in.

Monday I went after watching Pretty Little Liars. I was supposed to go swimming, but I didn't feel like it . So I did 3.09 km in 30 minutes, so that’s about 1 km per 10 minutes.

In other news, Friday night my mom called me and told me that our cat, Teddy, has been missing since Thursday. Last night I got a phone call at 11:30 from my mom telling me that she found Teddy. Teddy was under the deck. Our guess is Teddy went under the deck to do her thing in peace. Teddy past away. She was 16-17 years old. I knew it was coming, but I still cried my eyes out. She was around for most of my life. I miss her a lot. She was my baby.

She had a big personality. I don't care what Cavar says, animals have personalities. I remember when our dog died she wondered his kennel outside just sniffing and looking for him. For a week she would barely leave his kennel. It was her way of mourning him. When my dad moved out, she was so mad at him. He would pull into the driveway to pick my sister and I up and she would come visit him, but she wouldn’t look at him. After my sister left for school and I moved in with my dad Teddy just slept on her blanket all day long. Every time I go back home, I get greeted by the dogs outside. I go inside and the first name I call out is Teddy. When both my sister and I came home from school she would come trotting up to us and actually want us to pick her up. She would put her pawls up. She didn't do that to anyone else. Not the Christmas that just pasted, but the one before my sister and I went home and Teddy would got up when we called her and sat with us. My other sister's boyfriend, Tanner said "I have never seen that cat move so much." I thought it was funny.

I know she was just a cat, but she was my cat. She slept at the end of my bed all the time when I was little. I could go on and on about Teddy. I will end with I miss her very much. 17 years is a long time.
P.S. I really enjoy the comments, and keep them coming!

Lacking on the Working Out

Hey!

I skipped my 3 hour workout today to go shopping. I know it’s bad, but I have such a busy weekend that I couldn't have gone to get my stuff any other time. I didn't work out yesterday either because it was my rest day. Tomorrow I am doing a two hour workout in the morning and I am going to push myself. I want to beat my 12 km from last Saturday.

Yesterday I bought a dress that was a medium! I have not bought anything in a medium in, pff I can't remember the last time. I was so happy. I also bought new runners and black pumps! I will break both of them in tomorrow. It will be exciting.

I am going to a hockey game tonight, which will be fun. Tomorrow I am going to a formal dinner-dance with people from LU residence. I am super excited for that. I love getting all dressed up. Jackie, Jessica and I are having a girl day while we get ready for the formal. Face masks, hair, nails and dresses, what more could I ask for!

The last poll asked which is harder for you, swimming 1.5 km, running 10 km, or biking 40 km. 62% said running 10 km, 25% said swimming 1.5 km, and 12% said biking 40 km. I would also like to point out that this poll had the most votes! The new poll will ask, umm how about what motivates you to workout?

That's all for now. I am going to promise that I will do my work out tomorrow. I have to go get ready for my hockey game; I will post tomorrow....maybe. Keep motivated and remember just keep swimming, just keep swimming.

Exhausted Legs!

Hello from my exhausted legs.

I swear my legs are so exhausted they are numb. I am scared, if they are like this now, how are they going to be after months of running and biking? I am trying to think of what I did this week. Hmm ah okay last Friday I went on the elliptical for 30 minutes, Saturday I did an hour of biking and an hour of walking/jogging for a total of 17 km, Sunday I took a break. Monday I went 3km on the elliptical. Tuesday was a break. Tonight I did 2 km on the treadmill in 30 minutes. I wasn't really pushing myself tonight. So in total I have gone about 22km this week. Hey, it’s a start. My goal for next week is to beat 22km.

Friday I am doing an hour of swimming, an hour of biking and an hour of jogging/running. I now know how far I can get in an hour of biking and running. So I know I can push myself to make more ground in each hour. On Friday and Saturday I need to do more than 12 km of biking and more than 5km jogging. I don't think it will be hard going past 5 km jogging, I walked most of last time at 3 km/hour.

I can't wait for summer to be able to go outside. I like getting a route and trying to go faster each time I do the route. I will have to look for a bike route that is 40 km and a running route that is 10 km. Maybe I will Google map it right now!

Okay, well I am going to watch my Shaytards and head to bed. Goodnight and good luck. Leave a comment.

Top Ten Countries

Hey!

For those of you who don't know, I am sharing an apartment with a girl, Reina, who is from United Arab Emirates. I spent most of my day with her yesterday. Late last night we were talking about family, and where we see ourselves in the future. I told her that I want to travel. She got up, "I will be right back." Ok, I thought. I was a little confused. She came back with a pen and a piece of paper. She said “if you had 10 years left on the planet and money was no object, pick ten countries you would want to experience." It was harder than I thought, I want to visit as many countries as I can and experience them all. I did come up with a list eventually. After I made my list she dated, signed and wrote her e-mail on the back. She told me that she expects an e-mail with a photo of me in every one of these countries. Reina also told me to keep that piece of paper as a motivator.

  1. Australia
  2. Israel/Palestine
  3. Brazil
  4. Scotland
  5. Germany
  6. Argentina
  7. Greece
  8. Japan
  9. Jordan
  10. Morocco

Since I already have a poll going I am going to ask you, the reader, to comment and tell me some of your top 10 places you want to go. Remember money is no object.

Also I think as a treat for myself and I guess you readers too, I am going to revamp the look of my page at 3000 views. Remember leave a comment on paces you want to visit.

Triathlon Training Update #2

Hey everyone!

Last night I did a little post before my two hour workout. I did do my two hour workout. It was amazing. I felt so good after. I went with my friend Holly; she lives across the hall from me. I am so glad she came along. It was nice to have someone to talk to during the long two hours.

It didn't go exactly as planned, but nothing ever does. The whole point of yesterday’s workout was to see where I was at. To see how far I could get in an hour of each thing. I started off on the bike. Holly and I had some technical difficulties. Once we got past that, it was fine. I didn't know how to set the bike up that it timed an hour. I did two half hours, but each time I didn't get to see how far I went. I had a towel over the thing so I wouldn't look at the time and distance. I would be pedaling then there would be no resistance so I would look and it would say good job, with no workout history or summary. I was like crap! The second half hour on the bike I was looking near the end to see my distance. It was 6km. So I averaged the whole hour to be 11 km in total.

I got off the bike went to talk to Holly for a few minutes then got on the treadmill. I walked and jogged on and off. I was surprised that the only reason I had to stop jogging was because my shins hurt. It wasn't because I was out of breath! Holly was on the elliptical beside me so we talked. I was dumb and decided to play with the string, not thinking that it was attached to the stupid stop thing. I pulled it off and it stopped my workout with no workout summary. So once again I had to just guess! I had the thing covered! Gah! I am assuming because I didn't jog a whole lot that I was on the treadmill for an hour and I went about 5 km.

March 3rd
Bike- 12 km Treadmill- 5km

According to http://www.bx3.com/phil/tri/tritime.asp , as of  right now it will take me 4:50:21.
While Holly and I were at the gym we decided that we should make a schedule:

Monday- swim 1 hour
Tuesday- break
Wednesday- run or bike 1 hour.
Thursday- break
Friday- Swim, bike and run 1 hour each
Saturday- Bike and jog 1 hour each
Sunday- Weigh in.

There is all my news for my triathlon training. I am going to prove myself wrong and actually stick to it. Speaking of all that excursive, I need new runners. I have had the same ones for three years! If anyone has any comments, feel free to leave them below.

Quick Update

Hey!
I am just doing a really quick update before I head to the gym tonight for my workout. I am only doing an hour of biking and an hour of walking/jogging. I am not really in a swimming mood. Sean, I am totally doing this for you. No, that's a lie; I am doing it for you and me. I want to get in shape and lose some extra shay. lol! If you watch Shaytards you know what I am talking about. I am doing this for Sean too because he is the one that said let's do a triathlon.
I will do another post either tonight or tomorrow when I am done my 2 hour workout! Kill me! If you have any thoughts about training for a triathlon leave a comment.

More Life Goals, What a Surprise

Hey!

In case you didn't know already, I like to come up with lots of random goals.  I will start off with a list of my goals I have already mentioned in this blog.
  1. Travelling around the western Mediterranean
  2. Buy a villa somewhere
  3. Graduate University
  4. Donate my hair
  5. Go blonde
  6. Travel to Brazil
  7. Move to London
The newest edition to the list is.......are you ready?? I don't think you are. Okay, I think you are ready. I want to live in Florida for 6 months. I want to move there during the winter after I get back from living in London, if I come back from London. I think I will travel to Florida before I move there, just so I know what I am getting myself into. Moving to Florida was inspired by some YouTube’s, Charles and Ali. CTFxC! Check them out on YouTube! Love them :) Although right now Charles has a tumor, my thoughts go out to them. I know they will be fine.

My second new goal is finish a triathlon. This goal doesn't require money! Yay!! This goal is thanks to my friend Sean. Today I went on the elliptical for 30 minutes. I know that's not much, but it's a start. Tomorrow I am going to swim, bike and walk/jog for an hour each.  It is just a thing I want to do to see roughly where I am at for each excursive. I imagine by the time I get to the treadmill my legs will be jelly, but I will just overcome that when I get there.

The triathlon will be swim 1.5 km, bike 40 km and run 10 km.  I am literally going to die!

In my last post I asked “where would you like to love?” 75% said southern France, 25% said eastern Spain and 0% Monaco. I am assuming that most people didn’t know that Monaco is in the south of France. That’s okay. The new question will be which would be the hardest for you? Swimming 1.5km, running 10 km, or biking 40 km?

I will keep you updated on my triathlon training.
