Last Night...

Hey there folks,

I just wrote a blog earlier tonight but it still had not really hit me that I was leaving. After I finished my homework I went back to my room and packed. One of the last things I did was take my calendar, map and Audrey Hephburn poster down. I don’t know why but I feel like once I take those down it really is the end of this year. I have been acting like nothing is happening because I don’t want to realize that I’m leaving tomorrow.  We have had some pathetic fallacy going on. It has been raining all week and weekend. It goes along with everybody’s mood. It’s strange.

With this year coming to an end, I start my summer. I cannot wait to see my friends from home again! It has been a long time.  I need Sean, Andrea, Kaitlyn, Heather, Nicole and Candace time! It will also be nice to spend more than a few weeks with my dad. The last time I spent more than a month with him was before he went away. So December of 2009, I think. It has been even longer for my sister. I mean I know it’s time to grow up but still.

It must be time to grow up and move on. I feel that now more than ever. This year away has taught
me so much. I feel like the same person and I feel like I have not changed, but I hope I have for the better.  I cannot get over how many good friends I have made! I am sadder to leave them, than I was to leave home last summer. I think that I am sadder to leave here because I know that I am not going to see some of these people again. Maria, Talal and Bo live in different countries; it will be hard for me to ever see them again.  When is the next time I will be in Mexico, Saudi Arabia or China? Mexico maybe, but Saudi Arabia or China?!  As Maude would say “com’on!”

Abbaytard, Maude and Alex will be close. I will visit them next year for sure! Abbytard and Alex will only be an hour and half way! They will be nice and close. Maude will be like six or seven hours away. I think, I don’t know how far Quebec is.

This is my last night here. I cannot believe it. It’s really done. I remember lying in this bed thinking to myself, this is my home for the next eight months.  I cannot believe that this is my last night here, I really can’t.

Tomorrow is going to be so strange. I have to go into the school and do a bunch of stuff, come back here and do last minute packing, and saying goodbye to everyone is going to be really bad. I am going to be so sad saying goodbye to Abbytard, Maude, Bo and Alex if he makes it up here in time.  I hope he does!

I do not want this year to end. I have made some great friends. I feel like crying because I am so sad but I cannot. I think it may be because I know that this is not the end. It is the start of many great friendships.  It is not really the end but the beginning of a lifetime.

Eleven  Awesome Things/People in no particular order:
  1.       Abbaytard
  2.        Maude
  3.        Alex
  4.        Maria
  5.        Bo
  6.        Kristen
  7.        Sean
  8.        Andrea
  9.       Kaitlyn
  10. Heather.
  11.    Candace

I hope that everyone had a great year. I had a wonderful year; I will miss you all so much! My life has changed for the better knowing all of you. You have all brought something special into my life. I can only hope that I did the same for you. I am going to miss everyone so much.  The friends I have made here are different from the ones I have at home.

I don’t want to leave tomorrow.

My Last Day

Hey there folks,

Today is my last full day here in North Bay with all my friends :(  I want to start off by saying that I am going to miss everyone so much! I have become closer to my friends here in 8 months than I am with some friends from home. I will miss you all like crazy! I plan in keeping in touch with you guys as much as possible. I can't believe how much I will miss you guys. I can't say it enough, I will miss you guys.

This morning I woke-up to the sound of thunder! There was this one, I swear I jumped in my bed. I was in a deep sleep and this big boom of thunder woke me up. It scared the crap out of me! I texted Abbytard, to make sure I wasn't the only one.

When I finally got  Maude and Ferrari were downstairs. Ferrari is a Chinese who cooked lunch for Maude, Alex  and I. It was so good. Bo came later and helped cook. Before lunch was ready Audrey was packing her dads truck to go home.  It was really sad. He was the first roommate to leave. I will miss her. It was a good lunch with. The food and the conversation was really good.

After lunch I packed. I hate packing. I find I have to be in a certain mood to pack. I was in a mood today to pack but I had to stop and go to McDonalds with Abbaytard. After Abbytard and I went to McDonalds I had to come to the res office to do homework and use the internet. The internet at the house is down. It sucks.

Todays ten awesome things:

  1. Some Chinese dish I had today
  2. Being done school for the summer
  3. Getting your income tax back!
  4. Meeting great people
  5. Hanging out with those great people
  6. Going home to the familiar
  7. Going somewhere unfamiliar and exploring
  8. Twitter!
  9. Facebook!
  10. BBC Global News!!
I know my last three are lame, but oh well.

I am not doing a news thing today because I have to do homework and I am busy thinking about all the people I'm going to miss.

What a Good Day!

Hey there folks!

Today was such a good day! I had so much fun, it really makes me not want to leave even more! I wrote an exam, which was not fun, but now it's over with. Abbytard and I went to the lake. We had to walk down the beach in the rain, then I had to find a good spot to go in. I finally found a good spot and I ran in! It was knee high for I don't know how long, so I ended up just laying down. It was so cold.  After I was done "swimming" I walked over to the change room but it was locked! I had to change behind a bush. That was not that much fun.

I had to go home to shower because I didn't want to smell like the lake. When I caught the bus down to sushi, I meet up with Maria, Carlos and Talal. It was such a funny bus ride. It was so much fun. I don't think I have ever seen Talal speak so much! :O Maria and Carlos were funny as always. I didn't realize that that would be the last time I will see them! :( I want to cry!

After I got off the bus I went for sushi with Maude, Audrey and Alex. It was so much too! It was sad because it was our last sushi night! After sushi we went to shoppers and bummed around. We went to Tims and sat there talking. It was nice! When we were done we walked to lower res. We went to Maria's to say goodbye but she wasn't there. We wanted to say goodbye.

That's all about my day. Overall it was a very good day.  Now I have to think about todays ten awesome things.

  1. Good friends
  2. Good food
  3. Nice weather!! Not this rain we have been having
  4. flash mob dances....thanks Sean.
  5. Visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral
  6. Walking along the Champs Elysees
  7. Eating at a little outdoor cafe in Paris
  8. Looking at Paris from the top of the Arc de Triomphe
  9. Visiting the Louvre
  10. Walking through the Roman Forum
Those are my top ten awesome things today.

Today my blog got its 1000 view! Yay!! For a month and bit thats not bad at all! I am so excited! Maybe I should start writing about more interesting things. Meh I am too lazy.

News:

A census in China has found that China's population is aging. It also shows that China's population growth is slowing down. Almost 50% of Chinese live in urban environments. China's current population is 1.34 billion! Canada has 33 million! I can't imagine trying to control 1.34 billion people!

That's all my news and life story for today. I will write more tomorrow. I am heading to bed its 2:30! ek! I have to get up for brunch with some Chinese. Leave a comment :)

School, school

Hello there folks,

It's me again :) Today I did two exams! I am very pleased to have them done. Now I only have one more exam left, then I'm done!! I can't wait!

Tonight I started to pack. I wanted to have my room completely packed by the end of tonight but I know that's not happening now. I have been studying for my exam tomorrow and packing. It has just been a busy night for me. I still have to do four projects. Two are almost done, one is not close to being done and the other one I have not start but I am going to finish that tonight. It's a little two page report, not a biggy.

It has been raining all day. It's been nice. I enjoy the rain, when it's not for a week straight. It is supposed to rain all week. I hope not! I am supposed to jump in the lake tomorrow! Oh well I guess it wont matter if I get wet or not. I should be fun! Abbytard is taking me down to the lake after my exam tomorrow. Kristen was supposed to take me but she ditched! Just kidding, she had a horse thing to go to.

I sold my books today! I only got 130 bucks, but hey it's money! I like money, especially when it pays my cell phone and my visa off :) Although I know now why people get into so much trouble with their visa bills. I won't get into that.

Now for my ten daily awesome things!

  1. Internet!
  2. Reusable boxes for packing!
  3. Getting hot guys phone numbers
  4. Hot weather!
  5. Beaches with nice blue water
  6. The feeling you get when you finally pay something off!
  7. The feeling you get just after you shave your legs!
  8. Summer holidays!
  9. Getting your first pay cheque of the year/season!
  10. Getting back to your family!

News:

An alleged al-Qaeda militant suspected of bombing a hotel and two churches in Pakistan back in 2002 was an informer for M16. The Daily Telegraph reported that secret files suggest London was a "hub for global terror networks." BBC correspondent Frank Gardner said some of the secret files show MI6 in a bad light.

The US government suspected the BBC of being a "possible propaganda media network." Peter Horrocks, the Director of the BBC Global News, has written to the Telegraph pointing out that he " strongly disagrees" with how the interpretation of the files have been made.

The CIA agents were apparently told that the informer for MI6 and the Canadian secret service since 2000. The CIA claimed that he "withheld important information from the Canadian Secret Intelligence Service and the British Secret Service."

Wonders of the World

Hello folks,

I did one exam today! Now I only have three left! Tomorrow I have two. Oh well I will be that much closer to being done. I just decided that I am not going on facebook or twitter until tomorrow after my exams. I want to see how long that lasts. If I know myself, which I think I do, it won't be every long.

Now for the 10 awesome things of the day.

  1. Petra
  2. Easter Island Statues
  3. Taj Mahal
  4. Stonehenge
  5. Eiffel Tower (Which I have seen! That makes it so much better!)
  6. Acropolis
  7. Colosseum (I have touched it! Once again, making it more awesome!)
  8. Machu Picchu
  9. Pyramids of Giza
  10. Angkor
Today's list was much easier than yesterdays. I bet tomorrow it will hard again. Oh well. I will deal with that tomorrow. If you don't  know what those places are look them up. They are all considered The Seven Wonders of the World. Some are debatable, they are my 10 wonders of the world.  This is a bad idea, getting me thinking about travelling when I have to study!

There are many wonders of the world that I would like to see.  I think that the seven natural wonders are beautiful, like the Aurora Borealis. I love seeing it! The last time I saw the Northern Lights was last summer. I was in my room, when my step brother comes running into my room, "Come look!!" So we went upstairs and sat on the deck and watched them. I have never been in a crappy mood when I see them. They always make me happy and they make me think of good memories.

Last weeks question was "What should happen with exams?" 55% said that exams should have exemptions, which I agree with.  A mixture of no exams, exemptions and exams for all your classes was second with 44%. It was a close one this week, just one vote would have made it a tie! So to stay on todays topic, the new poll is which of my ten world wonders do you want to see?

NEWS:

In the news today, Italy has stated that they will be taking military action in Libya. Italy's PM  Silvio Berlusconi approved the use of Italian air force in NATO's Libya mission.

Syria's army has advanced into the city of Deraa. Witnesses said security forces opened fire in a suburb. Human rights campaigner said President Bashar al-Assad has launched "savage war" on the protesters.  The US has frozen assets and banned business dealings with Syria.

I was lazy today with the news, as I am sure you all hate. I am off to study. I will chat chit with you guys later. Yes, I stole that line from Dane Cook.

Saturday!

Hey there folks,

I didn't write a blog Friday. Sorry, I wasn't really in the mood. I had a wee bit of a hangover. Thursday night was really fun! It was really sad but really fun! I remember Maude lying on the coffee table then on the counter. Then trying to get Bo to stay on the floor. Oh dear!

Abbytard and I had our sleepover last night it was so much fun! We watched Zach and Miri Make a Porno. It was better than I thought it would be, rather funny. We then got hyper and wanted to knock on the creep house behind ours. This one room has had the light on for 7 days now. The person moved out and left the light. Yeah we are strange.

Last night it was really quiet on res. It was so strange! Normally people are walking around drunk or just out and about. No one was out! It creeped me out.

I decided that I am going to start listing 10 things that are awesome for the next ten blogs! Leave a comment with things that you think are awesome and maybe I will put it in my list, it depends. It is really hard! Lets start off with the following:

  1. Going out with great friends and having a great time
  2. Big Bang Theory or How I Met Your Mother Marathons
  3. Waking up and realizing it's Saturday
  4. Travelling
  5. Seeing something you have learnt about in the classroom
  6. Seeing and petting cute puppies
  7. Watching a good movie that makes you think
  8. Seeing someone that you missed
  9. The smell of the air when it's raining
  10. Watching a good thunderstorm
That's my list for today. I think this will be harder than I think. OMG the Easter Bunny just slid a note under my door! Ah! I get to find 11 eggs tomorrow! Good ol' Easter Bunny.

News:

A statue of the guardian of children sits among the rubble at Ishinomaki
The devastation has been described as the country's biggest crisis since the end of World War II.
The Japanese government has announced a four trillion yen emergency budget for disaster relief. The budget still needs to get approved by parliament in May. Japanese authorities have estimate it will cost 25 trillion yen to rebuild the country.  The budget is aimed at disaster relief.
After the Mach 11th earthquake and tsunami more than 27,000 people are dead or missing. It also left the infrastructure destroyed in north-eastern part of Japan. The government made it illegal to enter a 20km radius around the Fukushima nuclear reactor.
That's all for today. I am really sleepy plus there is a Big Bang Theory marathon on that is distracting me. Leave a comment with any thoughts or ideas about the 10 awesome things for 10 blogs :)

Long Weekend Here I come!

Hello, Hello

I have three day weekend! I am really excited! It gives me more time so see everyone! Tonight, I'm going to Maria's, tomorrow we are doing an Easter egg hunt and I am doing my last sleepover with Abbytard! :( Saturday I am doing homework and studying, so much fun. Sunday I am doing a brunch with the ESL class. It will be a busy weekend. I will be doing all this plus studying and doing assignments whenever I can!

Today I went out with Abbytard to the mall and bought my stuff for the brunch and the Easter egg exchange thingy. I dislike how every Easter I eat too much chocolate. I don't even like chocolate! It’s just so sweet!

I love going on facebook and talking to friends from home. It makes my day. Today I talked to Heather!! I miss her! I miss everyone else too. I love talking to Heather.  She seems to be the only one who regularly  says that she misses me. I know that might sound vain, but it’s is nice not to always be the first one saying it. Heather also reminded me that two of my friends have birthdays in May! I am glad I will be back for that!

This is a short one because I have to get ready for tonight and I spent all day with Abbytard.  I can’t wait for our sleepover tomorrow!

Oh I also learnt what a seance is. A seance is a meeting at which people to make contact with the dead. Strange I know.

NEWS:

Five of six men have been acquitted of gang rape in Pakistan by the Supreme Court. The victim, Mukhataran Mai, has become an icon for women’s rights in Pakistan since she spoke out in 2002. She feared for her life before and after she spoke out.  Mai said that the people never recorded her statement correctly. She also said she does not have faith in the courts in Pakistan anymore.  She has put her faith in God. God will deal with those men.

That's all for today. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend. Try not to forget what Easter is really about. Take care :) Leave a comment if you want too.

Snow...Really?

Hey folks!

Today is hump day and national pot day? I don't know if that's what it is called. I got a text from my step sister today "Happy 4/20!" I was half asleep, so I was like what? Once I finally actually got up I looked outside to see snow! I was like what the hell!

Today, I didn't have any classes! The one class I was supposed to goto was cancelled. I was like yes! It gave me time to work on all my assignments. I only got one done but that's one down and 4 to go. I haven't even started my exams yet, next week.

Abbytard just scared the crap out of me! I was sitting here, looking in the hall for some reason and she walked by. It scared me! I remember one time Maude and I were hanging out in her room and there was something scary on her laptop screen. I stood there watching it, then five seconds later I turn my head, "that was scary." Apparently I said it with no emotion, and it was hilarious.

Canada has elections coming up soon! May 2nd! I personally can't wait! Last night I went on the Liberal, Conservative, NDP and Bloc Quebecois websites. Yes, I'm a nerd, I know! I watched videos and read about each party. Well the Bloc Quebecois website was hard to get around, being French and all. I tried the English "version" but that was a fail. How do they expect me to learn about them if I can't understand what they are saying?

I started talking with my friend from home tonight. She is a real homebody. We started talking about when I get home and she said "awe I wont see you." So I asked her why and she told me shes going away to work! I was SOOO shocked! I mean, she never leaves! The only time she leaves is when it has something to do with horses or horse friends! I miss her already! It will be hard going another two months! Then she asked me where I'm working this summer. I told her I don't have a summer job yet and she makes me feel like an idiot for not having a job yet. Sometimes her sense of entitlement....no not entitlement. I don't know, but whatever it is drives me crazy.

I was on twitter today and I saw this video from three music fesitvals in Queensland, Australia. It made me want to go to Australia so bad! I would go anytime of year, it doesn't matter to me! So, you know if anyone wants to go give me a shout. I put the link below.

NEWS:

Libya, Tim Hetherington died Wednesday, April 20th, 2011. People always think "oh Africa is so far. Whatever is going on there doesn't affect me here in Canada or the US," but it does. Americans and Canadians never pay attention until a North American is killed. For Americans, I find they don't even notice when a Canadian is killed but if an American is, the whole world should know! It really makes me sad for North Americans to notice and really care whats going on other places a North American has to die. We should care before that happens. People are dying all the time over there, why should we wait until one of our own dies before we stand up and say something? Please tonight think about Hetherington's family, keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Anyways, thats my ramble today. Sorry if I offended any Americans reading, that was not my intention. Remember to vote because it is our democratic right and duty! People like Hetherington are out there doing their dangerous jobs so us at home can see how good we really have it. As always leave a comment about any thoughts or opinions.

Dinner at Maria's :D

Hey folks,

Today was an interesting day, in a good way. I went to my 8:30 class to find out I am exempt from that exam! Off to a good start, I would say. Then I sat around for 2 hours waiting for my next class. I sat there listening to other people do their business plan oral presentations. I got marks just for being there! Who doesn't like easy marks? I went to two, two hour classes. That part wasn't really fun, but I did get our early in my last class!

When I got home I was pleasantly surprised to have a message on facebook from Maria! Maria is my favourite Mexican! Carlos is second. Maria made us tacos! It was a multicultural dinner.  Maria, from Mexico! Audrey, Alex, Meagan, Audrey-Maude, Tommy, Stephan and Audrey, from Quebec and Talal from Saudi Arabia!  Then there is me, from Ontario. I’m so lame compared to everyone else there!

We are having a party on Thursday night, and an Easter brunch on Sunday.  I’m going to miss them but I’m so glad I meet all of them. The next week and a bit will be hard. I have exams and I’m leaving everyone. Not just my non-English friends but Abbytard and Maude. Lol. That’s right Maude is my English friend! Lmao! I always tell her how I want to be bilingual like her.

This Friday, Abbytard and I are having a sleepover! It is going to be our last one! Everyone makes fun of us because we live together but you know what I don't care! The last sleepover we had we were up until 4, I think, I can't remember. You could definitely tell we had not seen each other in a long time, two weeks.

Enough about being sad! There are things that I'm looking forward to about going home. My friends and family at home, not doing my dishes all the time, NOT cooking all the time and my nice BIG bed. I can't wait for summer so I can hang out with my friends again. I used to get jealous of when they hung out, but not anymore. I have come to realize that, that's life. I left them. It also makes it easier to not be jealous that they are going out when I go out. Tehehe.

NEWS:    :):)

Since Tunisia and Egypt have had rebellions and over threw their government, Libya has been trying to do the same. Tunisia and Egypt had their tyrants out of power in under a month! Libya has been trying to get Col. Gaddafi out since February, 16th 2011. Two months and Britain is finally sending military officers to Libya, to help the rebels fight against Col. Gaddafi. The French have already sent in their military officers.

Hope everyone had a good day! Just remember that, the friends you make in college and university are different from the ones you make in high school.  As always, leave a comment with any thoughts you have about today's blog or anything really. Later days.

E.X.A.M.S

Exams....

Exams are almost here! I really need to start studying and doing my assignments. Ugh this next two weeks is going to be hectic. It really sucks that all my friends from home are done exams or almost done. I go on facebook and everyone has their status as "Yay summer!" Jerks. Two more weeks and I will be on "summer" holidays. There is snow on the ground so I'm not calling it summer holidays. I will just call it holidays...I don't know yet.

This past Saturday was the one month anniversary of my blog! My blog "manager" wanted me to do something special for it... I'm too lazy to do that. Saturday was fun! I helped Abbytard move to her new apartment for next year, I went out for sushi and had a few drinks. It was really fun.  After sushi, we went to the LCBO to get drinks. After we paid for our stuff we went to find our friends who didn't have cell phones! I had to text Audrey to get Meagan's number. By the time she answered they were already on the bus back to res. Maria, Bo, Alex and I had to wait another 20 minutes to get a bus. We all had different first languages :O We were a multicultural group. Spanish, Chinese, French and English!  Guess who was the English.

I can't believe that there are only two weeks left! That is so sad! Everyone is going back home. Some of the friends I have made here are not from Canada so I will most likely never see them again :( That is so sad! Some of my friends are from Quebec or from other parts of Ontario. I don't want to talk about this. It is too sad!

Last weeks poll! KitKat and Aero won with 4 votes each, Coffee Crisp,Oh Henry! Caramilk came in second with 3 votes each. Personally I think Caramilk and Oh Henry should have came in first, but oh well.  This weeks poll is about exams. Since most students have had or are having exams.

News:

10 days until the royal wedding!  The wedding is on Friday, April 29th.

French commandos should be deployed in Libya to help guide air strikes. Rebels have been bombed at least twice by NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization). It's Friday, Friday! Gotta get down on Friday!

Hey folks,

Guess what?! It's Friday! Gotta get down on Friday! Ugh that song is so annoying! I was singing it to my friend Kristen. She had never heard it! I made her youtube it and I got a message saying omg! I thought it was hilarious!

I am so hyper today! Tomorrow is my one month anniversary for my blog! Today was my bestest friend Sean's last exam today! Lucky duck! I still have two weeks until my last exam. He is lucky I love him.

Sean, my sister and I watch this show called "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." It is so funny! This past week he has been in Las Vegas. He did a little skit with his robot sidekick.  Craig Ferguson also does the best Murder She Wrote skits! He does a lot of different skits. They are all so funny. One of my favourite skits is his ESPN UK. There are so many skits to pick from. He has to be one of the funniest people. I have read both his books, Between the Bridge and the River and American On Purpose.

You can tell it is Friday night on residence because today on the bus most of the kids were carrying LCBO bags. The music has already started and its 7:30.  I love the weekends on res, I see so many interesting things. My window is right by a main path so I get to hear everyone coming home from The Wall.

News:

In light of the royal wedding coming up the BBC put pictures of extreme weddings. The royal wedding is on May 29th, exactly two before the wedding.

That's all for today. Leave a comment if you want.

It's Thursday, Thursday Gotta Get Down on Thursday!

Hi there,

I was going to be lazy and not write a blog tonight but I am being forced by Bean. Bean is a pain in my ass! Today is Thursday. What did I do today? I can't remember...

Abbytard and I went Burger World! So good! I really have to stop eating out, it's bad for my health and my wallet! After Saturday I am not eating out for a long time! I am going for sushi with Maude, Alex and I don't know who else yet.

After dinner we went to Wal-mart. That lovely place... If I wasn't so broke I wouldn't shop there. I bought new shampoo and conditioner that smells so good.  The new stuff smells better than the stuff my grandma gave me.

I don't really know what else to talk about. I am to lazy to type my opinion on things. Plus I'm sure Bean wouldn't know what I was talking about. He is so strange but that's why we get along. Oh I did a grammar test today. Ugh I hate grammar tests! I only got 75 :(  Lame!

News:

Done with the Business Plan!! AHAH

Hey!

I am so excited! I'm done with my business plan and the oral presentation!! Now all I have to do is show up and listen to other people present. I get marks just for showing up and listening! Sweet!! I don't have to work, I can relax and enjoy my afternoon. I'm also going out for dinner with my roommates tonight! I did laundry today! That's exciting! I now have nice clean clothes. I love folding them and the smell of fresh clothes. I love folding them after they have been hung to dry outside. Oh dear, I love that smell. Oh, when you crawl into nice clean sheets! Love it! Overall it's shaping up into a good day :)

I have put a list together of movies that I want to watch or should watch. I have 50ish movies on my list so far. I need help though. If you know any movies that I should watch leave a comment or just text me, either or.  I watched American Beauty the other night. It was really weird. I like Kevin Spacey. He is one of those actors who is really good but often forgotten. I mean once I see him or hear his name I'm like "oh yeah I know him." He is a good actor.  I think he is one of the most underrated actors. He is in the movie  Pay it Forward! Who doesn't like that movie! If you have never seen it, watch it!

Tonight at dinner I didn't have enough change so Abbytard gave me the two dollars. The waitress goes back to get change and was upset I didn't leave a bigger tip. I sitting there thinking "I am in college and did you not see me have to ask for change?" Normally I would leave a tip, but I didn't have anything left to leave! So just to piss her off even more I left the three cents right at the edge of the table so she could clearly see it.

News:

Egypt's former President Mubarak had a heart attack yesterday. He is in intensive care and in unstable condition.  He is also under investigation for corruption and abuse. I personally think the corruption allegations are true but I don't know. His sons Alaa and Gamal have also been detained for corruption and violence.

I will probably add to this after dinner. Leave a comment if you feel like it :) Don't forget to vote for your favourite chocolate bars and for the elections coming up on May 2nd.

Bloggy Blog

Hey there folks,

Have any of you ever had to print stuff on an overhead sheet? If you have, then you know they sheets are friggen expensive! 16 bucks for 5 sheets! AH!! I was almost tempted to say "screw it! I will accept the lower mark!"

I have an oral presentation tomorrow. I am so nervous. I normally am okay with them but not tomorrows. I don't know why. I am excited to get it done with. That class is a huge pain in the butt.

Tomorrow I will most likely be late putting up the blog, mind you tonight I'm late. Tomorrow night I am going out for dinner with my roommates :) The last time all six of us went out for dinner was just before the Christmas break.  It will be nice getting out with all of us. Well when I went to bingo there were four of us that were roommates, Maude, Audrey, Abbytard and me.  It will be an interesting night....to say the least.

It will be nice to get off school at 1:30, and actually be done for the day. I am not working anymore, well not until summer. It has been so hard getting a job. I have been applying like crazy and getting nothing!  Oh well. I am going to focus on school and I will focus on jobs when summer comes.

News:  THIS ONE IS INTERESTING

A lot of you probably won’t remember when a plane crashed in 2009. The plane crashed on its way to Paris from Rio De Janerio . The plane was never found and nothing was known about what caused it to go down.  The tail section of the plane was found recently. It gives hope to the families of the victims.

I bet Sean didn’t read that. He always skips my news section. Jerk.  Love you  Bean. Anyways that’s all for today.  Leave a comment.

Thunderstorm!!

Hey there folks,

Last night there was a wicked thunderstorm! It was awesome! I love watching and listening to thunderstorms but last night I got creeped out. It was strange. It lasted for a good hour or so. I couldn't sleep anyways so it was all good. After I got off skype with Sean, I had my curtains wide open. I was laying my bed looking at the lightning and listening to the thunder. I was so relaxing, yet creepy. I had my window open, as always, listening to the rain and the thunder. I remember when I was little my parents used to say that it was God bowling or something like that.

As I was laying deep in thought watching the lightning, this huge bolt of lightning made all the fire alarms go off in my house! I jumped a mile! As I was texting Sean, I got three text messages from Abbytard, Sean and Melissa. I was like "good I am not the only one who is up."

Speaking of alarms, there is one going off now. I think it's from the hospital just down the road but it's annoying.

Last week's poll was "which social media website do you prefer?" Facebook won with 5 votes and twitter came in second with one vote.  Blogging and no social media both had no votes. Make sure you check out the new poll for this week :)

News:

Laurent Gbagbo has been arrested by forces loyal to the country's recognized leader, Alassane Ouattara. Ivory Coast's UN-recognised President, Alassane Ouattara, has urged restraint after the dramatic capture of his bitter rival Laurent Gbagbo.

I am really lazy so I don't feel like doing a big long blog today.  Leave a comment.

Pants Around the Knees ;)

Hey there folks,

Sorry I didn't do a Friday post. Well I'm sure you didn't even notice. What did I do Friday? Oh Right!

I took Maude, Audrey, Caroline, Bo and Abbytard to Bingo! We didn't win anything but it was really fun. We were the youngest people there! It was hilarious!  When we were on our way to the bingo we wait for a bus for I don't know long, maybe 20 minutes. We got on and it was like the second stop.  On the way home after 2 hours of bingo, we walked to the bus stop only to see the bus coming! We all booted it down the road! It was really funny. When we got back to res Bo, Maude and I played cards and watch Thriller. Bo had never heard the song before! :O how shocking!!

Well since today is Saturday, I might as well tell you what I did today. I went shopping and went to Twiggs.  I am not that exciting. I don't know why I always post about what I do. I am really lame. What college students go to bingo on a Friday night? I do.

Today I was on the bus, and I saw this cute old man get off the bus. It got me thinking about what the guys my age will look like when they are old men. I wonder if they will still wear those stupid gangster shit. Imagine if they dressed the same. Haha this old guy walking down the street with his pants at his knees. Oh so sexy! I don't know about you but an old man with pants around his knees.  ugh. I hate when guys have their pants around their knees. Do they think they look good? Personally I think the look like slobs and wanna bes but what do I know.

So many times I have thought I was born in the wrong time. I am so old fashion sometimes. I think I was born during the Greeks, the Romans and during the world wars. I have such a fascination with those time periods. I don't know why but I do. It would make so much sense.

News for the day.

Gbagbo is the president of the Ivory Coast but the UN recognizes Alassane Ouattara as the president of the Ivory Coast. The UN thinks that Gbagbo rigged the elections and that Alassane Ouattara is the rightful president. The UN has insisted that Gbagbo be arrested, judged and tried for crimes against humanity during his term and since the election of Ouattara.

Trouble in the Ivory Coast Timeline:

  • 28 Nov 2010: Incumbent Laurent Gbagbo and challenger Alassane Ouattara in election run-off
  • 2 Dec: Electoral commission announces that Ouattara won 54% of vote
  • 3 Dec: Constitutional Council declaring Gbagbo the winner; UN says Ouattara was victor
  • 30 Mar 2011: Pro-Ouattara forces enter the capital, Yamoussoukro
  • 4 Apr: UN launches air strikes on Gbagbo in main city, Abidjan
  • 5 Apr: Three generals negotiate Gbagbo's surrender
  • 6 Apr: Gbagbo denies he is ready to leave

That's all for this Saturday here on res. Leave a comment  :)

Harry Potter Theme Park.

Hello hello,

Cafeteria, it's a spot where you sit, chat to friends and eat lunch. Not me. Kristen and I sit here and play on our laptops instead of talking to each other. We are so strange. I like to sit here and people watch.  I am not a creepers or anything! She keeps trying to talk to me on facebook when we are right across the table! Oh dear, now she’s texting me!

So after my three hour break I went to my class and it was 10 minutes! Now another three hour break! Ugh!! 4:30 can't come fast enough. Kristen and I went for a walk down to lower res. Then we walked back up the hill only to hop in her car to head to Tim Horton’s. Today has been so boring! If Kristen wasn’t here I would have just not went to my 4:30 class, but she’s making me.

Today I took the bus to the airport! I have now been on all the buses! I know I'm lame, I can't help it.  Abbytard and I went together! We got to the aviation campus and we were the only girls! It was so funny. Abbytard was watching Shaycarl. Awhile ago they were at the Harry Potter Theme park! Tanis be jealous be jealous!

News!!

The Ivory Coast is wondering if the UN overstepped their boundaries. The UN helicopters bombarded the arsenal of Laurent Gbagbo, his spokesman condemned what he called "illegal acts" and "war crimes" aimed at assassinating the entrenched ruler of Ivory Coast.

That's all for today folks. Leave a comment if you feel like it. Tanis I want to hear your thoughts.

Hello there!

I am at work again. Well this is the last day :(  There is a science fair going on here for the little kids. They have all been walking by and looking at me. I realized how much I love elementary school teachers! They are all so nice! One walked by and asked if I have been bad. It was funny. Another one walked by and said I remind him of a hall monitor! That made my day! Come to think about working in an elementary school must be fun. All the teachers are super friendly, I love it! That would explain why I love my best friend Sean. I can't wait to go visit him at his elementary school he is going to teach at. I dislike kids that age, it takes a special person to deal with them.

I can hear the class talking about the fallopian tube. I am learning the female anatomy! I am so immature! I find this hilarious! I can see a few boys in that class drawing and pointing and laughing to themselves. It's funny because the teacher is talking about how people take sex very lightly. "As professionals we should call everything by the proper name!"  I wonder what those people are taking. If it's nursing I have three friends and a sister in that! If it's something for doctors, I have a friend in that!

My friends are all smart! INTERCOURSE!! One is going for ECE, two are going for teaching, three nursing, one doctor! Then there is me, business. Well this year I'm in business. Next I will be going for Political Science.  I have two friends who make me feel stupid for going to college. I know I'm not the smartest person around. I get it, but college doesn't mean I'm dumb.  I had the grades to go to university but I knew college was cheaper. I knew that I was not staying in business, so why go to university and spend more? When I put it on Facebook that I got into university I had one friend congratulate me like it was his HUGE thing for me. "Congratulations! I knew you could do it!"  Excuses me! I'm not a retard, don't treat me like one! I remember in grade 12, when I told her I was applying to college the look she gave me! It was as if I was so stupid. "Oh well good luck". I don't need your luck! I am smart enough to do it! PENIS SIZE!   She is really smart and she knows it!  She thinks everyone who doesn't get 80's and 90’s in class are stupid. I got 70's, I don't think I'm stupid.

Sorry about that little rant.

News!

News from the Ivory Coast. Forces opposed to President Laurent Gbagbo have attacked his residence - where he and his family are said to be sheltering. Fighters backing Alassane  Ouattara, have said they will not kill Mr Gbagbo if they are able to capture him. Gbagbo's supporters say his enemies want to assassinate him. French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said negotiations with Gbagbo’s supporters had broken down as a result of the incumbent president's "intransigence".

The news is that part that takes me the longest. It's a pain in the ass but people need to be informed. Leave a comment.

Hello there,

I finally handed in my business plan! I got this huge load off of my shoulders! You know when it literally feels like you are free. I cant wait until the end of the school year. That will be the final freedom.

I cleaned my room tonight. I know, I'm lame. My first night of freedom and I clean my room.  It will be nice sleeping in clean sheets! I love crawling into clean sheets. I vacuumed my room, including between my bed and the wall. I pulled my bed out away from the wall and got in between there. I did a hardcore clean tonight :)

I don't know why I tell you guys that stuff. It's really boring I'm sure. Anyways onto other boring stuff like... hmm

There is this really cool website called stumbleupon. It's so neat! I could spend hours on there. You create an account and you check off sections of stuff you are interested in. After that you "stumble" and it gives you websites, photos and videos of things that it thinks you might like.  I just came across a website of a pirate inspired bedroom! How cool is that!!

Today my laptop would not turn on! It scared me so much! I had it plugged in and everything! I tired turning it on for five minutes straight! It finally turned on thank God. I was having a panic attack. I mean my laptop is two or three years old, I can't remember. I know for sure it's at least two years old. I was looking at Macbooks and Macbook pros. I don't know the difference between the two. I like the look of a Macbook pro better. I can't afford a mac. Everyone says "oh its worth the investment", yes it might be but I don't have the money to invest! I think my next laptop will be an HP. They seem to be a good brand. I don't know! If anyone has any advice let me know, please.

News!

Sad news for day, B.C. will bring in tough new animal cruelty laws, following the alleged slaughter of 100 dogs by a Whistler company last spring. The B.C Premier Christy Clark announced that "clearly that cruel or inhumane treatment of sled dogs or any other animal is simply not acceptable."

Good news for the day, Japans Fukashima power plant has stopped leaking!! The plants operator said "A leak of highly radioactive water from a damaged nuclear reactor in Japan has been stopped from reaching the ocean"

That's all for today. Leave a comment if you want. Remember to check out stumbleupon :)

Maude's Birthday :)

Hey there folks,

Today is Maude's Birthday! We didn't do anything special. Normally we get the whole house together for a dinner but everyone was busy tonight. So Maude had a two friends over at the last minute. When I got home I saw them cooking, so I told Maude after I finished my stuff and they had dinner I would make them a cake. When I got back Meghan and I made a cake. It was really nice to hang out with them. There was five of us. Just a quiet get together.

This past weekend, I had sushi! I have not had sushi in years! It was so good! I think I found my new favourite food! There was eight of us there! Audrey, Meagan, Maude, Bo, Alex and two girls I don't know. It was really fun! Bo showed me how to use chop sticks! He is a very good teacher!

Friday night was a lazy night. Abbytard and I rented the tourist and had pizza. The Tourist sucked! First, I don't like Angelina Jolie. She is a home wrecker.  Anyways that was my weekend.

I see that The King's Speech won the poll. I personally am very happy it won. Although I want to see the Black Swan. It looks so good!  Out of the four movies that were up there I have only seen two, The King's Speech!! and the Fighter. I liked the Fighter but it was not as good as The King's Speech.

News!

A chemical  which summons stem cells from bone marrow to the site of a wound has been discovered by scientists in the UK and Japan. Bone marrow was thought to play a role in repairing damaged skin, but the exact process was unknown. This chemical will be used to treat burns and leg ulcers.

That's all for tonight I have an early class and I thought I should do my blog before I head off to bed. Good night and good luck! Leave a comment if you want.

I am getting lazy

Hello there folks,

I am getting lazy, I have been slacking on my "daily" blogs. My bad. I feel lazy! It's Friday night and I am sitting at home. I went out grocery shopping. Woot woot. I guess I should but my groceries away eh? Nah, nothing has to be put in the freezer or fridge. You know things like bread.....pineapple.

Abbytard gave me this pineapple a few nights back and it's still sitting in the middle of my room. Everyone who has come in has asked me why I have a pineapple sitting in the middle of my room. Mind you my room is messy, I don't know why having a random pineapple looks out of place.  I have clothes, jackets, bags, and wires are on my floor. I hate all the wires I have! I have wires for my TV and DVD player. I also have an internet wire, laptop charger, cellphone charger, lamp and my fan. I have wires that I don't even know what they are for!

So since it's April 1st my April fools days joke was changing my facebook profile to be my friends! It is very entertaining getting people confused! I want to see how long it will take him to notice. I wrote on my sister's wall as Sean. I can't wait to see the reaction! She always has the best reaction!

In the news today:

At least seven (7) UN staff have been killed today in a protest in Northern Afghanistan. From what I read and watched it seems that two of the staff members were beheaded! The UN staff were killed after protesters stormed a UN compound in the Afghan city of Mazar-e Sharif.  Mazar-e Sharif was considered to be one of the safest cities in Afghanistan.

My dad did two (2) UN missions over seas. The seven UN staff being killed sort of hits close to home. I am glad he did them to help people. I was never really that worried because I was little the first time. When he went the first time there were bombs going off and I didn't really care..... well I cared but I didn't get the full meaning of it. The second time no bombs went off and this time I was older. It was last year so I was definitely aware of the danger this time.  It's hard enough having your family member over there and worrying about them. Most of us our family comes and is okay. My dad's last mission was nine months. It's hard being away from them for nine months but you know they are coming back. I can't imagine what those seven UN staff members families must be going through.  My heart goes out to them! I think that the UN members died  saving other people. To die saving people, is the most honorable reason to die.

Please keep the family members of those fallen UN staff members in you prayers tonight. They will be in mine.
