Orientation

Hello there,

Did I ever mention that I hate orientation. Here's the situation, been to every nation nobody's ever made me feel the way that you do, you know my motivation, given my reputation. Sorry I got distracted. Okay, seriously thought I hate orientations. I worked there for almost two years, then I transfered to the one down there and had to do an orientation. Things didn't work out so I quit blah, blah. When I got home I "reapplied" here. I just told Mel that I wanted a job and he gave me my old job back. Tonight for the third time I had to do orientation! Ugh!! This time I am getting trained in cash. I don't really want to do cash, but it's a job.

I am greedy so I will do almost anything for money. If I see a penny on the ground I will pick it up. I pick up any change I can find. I also roll my change and bring it to the bank. You know how some people are compulsive spenders? I am compulsive saver. I am strange I know, I can't help it.

No news for tonight. I am sure that so many of you are disappointed.

Last Oprah Show Today :(

Hello,

I don't know if any of you watch Oprah, but today was her last show :(   I didn't watch it everyday, but I did watch it. I am going to miss it. I like her show. I liked her show when did she stuff like makeovers on people or homes. I also enjoyed the episodes when she would talk to guest I actually knew and liked.

I am slacking on the blog. Last week I did everyday, but Friday. I worked this weekend!! Yay!! I worked Saturday and Sunday! Sunday night I went out with my friend Andrea. Monday, I went to Kaitlyn's house with Heather, Nicole, Sean, Alister, Sarah and Stacy. It was so much fun! We played "Things"...I think that is what it is called, I can never remember.

Last weeks poll was "What do you think is a sign of summer?" The smell of a bbq and people on bikes tied for first place with 40% each. The sound of lawn mowers came in second with 20%. The smell of sunscreen didn't even get one vote! That surprised me.  This weeks poll is going to be "What do you want to do this summer?"

News:

UN vehicle patrols in Abyei (24/05/11)
In Sudan's Abyei region,  shots were fired at UN helicopters.  According to the BBC 14 shots were fired at 4 UN helicopters.

The South Sudan region is set to become independent this July. In January Sudan had a referendum to separate the north from the south.  The southern part of Sudan were in a "miserable situation".

The Misseriya ethnic group is believed to be the group who shot at the UN helicopters. The Misseriya were armed by Khartoum and used to attack the south during the civil war.

Sorry I missed Monday and Tuesday. I have been lazy and I get busy with other things. I will try and do it Friday.

Hello, hello,

I got up at 1 pm today!! I can't believe I slept that late, that's crazy! My sleeping schedule is all messed up. I go to bed at 3am  and get up at noon. I can't do that if I am going to be working this weekend at 10!  I am going to be dead!

Today I went to Andrea's for dinner. She made stir-fry that was spicy. I thought it was really good, I liked the kick.  We went for a walk with the dogs down to the bridge. Her one dog, Jack, jumped into the the creek. He doesn't like water but he thought he could jump across. It was so funny. Once he was in the water he crawled out but was on the wrong side of the creek. The poor guy had to jump back into the creek to get back to us.  It is always entertaining at Andrea's house.

This weekend coming up is May long. I work on Saturday, but other than that nothing. I want to go camping, but I can't do that. My mission this summer is to find different things to do and see here in town. Yesterday I went the the towns conservatory. I didn't know we had one! Yesterday made me want to see what else this town has to offer. There is a new exhibit at the art gallery this weekend. Maybe I should check that out. I don't know.

I just watched the Big Bang Theory! I can't believe how it ended!! Oh my god!! I do not want to wait until September to find out what happens!! AHAH!!! OMG OMG

News:

An American man who was paralysed from the chest down can stand and move his legs again. He was hit by a car. With electrical stimulation of his spinal cord he can move his toes, hips, knees and ankles while on a treadmill being supported.

I have nothing else to day. I am really bored, so this is all I am going to say. Leave a comment if you have any thoughts.

Birthday Dinner!

Hey hey!

I went out tonight for my friends birthday. Her birthday was a few days ago, but we just had the dinner tonight. It was really fun. The birthday girl's meal didn't arrive. I tried to be polite and not eat until she got hers, but I ended up eating my fries. After we paid we sat there for a good hour just chatting. It was really nice. What is better than good friends and good conversation?

Before that Sean and I went to the Conservatory! I didn't know we had one! It was really cool! I saw plants from Asia, Australia, Mexico and South America. We saw trees that grow bananas, coffee beans, oranges (but they were not in season yet)  and lemons. I was very surprised to see that in Northern Ontario! I know it was in a conservatory, but still. There was also a room dedicated to cacti. I don't understand why more people don't go there. It was nice that it was pretty much  empty so we weren't bothered.  I think it would be a great spot to take the kids. I am sure that the kids would like all the pretty flowers and the different trees  and bushes.

Last night I watched a movie about two guys riding around on a motorbike and just exploring. It made me really want to drive across Canada or Australia. Tonight I turn on one of my favourite shows, House Hunters International. Guess where they are, Australia! Maybe it is a sign! I like to think so. If my sister and I don't go on a trip in 2014 I want to travel around somewhere. I want to travel before somethings ties me down, like boyfriends, kids, jobs, and blah blah blah.

News:

Anyone remember Egypt? Well Egypt still has to do work on giving justice to those killed or injured during the rallies to kick President Hosni Mubarak out of power. According to reports human rights were abused during the unrest in Egypt.

Remember Japan? The country with the world's third largest economy? Well at least it used to be. Since March the gross domestic product (GDP) fell 0.09%. Japan has fallen back into a recession. Reports say that  consumption and exports were hit hard after the earthquake and tsunami. It is assumed that the economy will remain weak for a few years but will bounce back.

Those are my stories and news recaps for the day. Let me know what you think. Three for three! Yay! Although this one is really short. My bad.

Interests

Hello there.

Summer is here! I laid out in the sun today with my sister tanning. My sister got a nice sunburn on the front of her body. Me, on the other hand, I just got a a wee bit of colour. When we went inside I felt sick. I had a hat on, but I still felt lightheaded. My stomach was upset too. I don't know what happened, all I know is that I felt like curling up into a ball. I want to get colour, but I don't want to feel sick after sitting in the sun.

I don't know about you, but if I was in the military I would not want to be on naval ship. I like to see ground at all times, which is strange because I don't mind flying. I am not a huge fan of flying, it's uncomfortable. I like the idea of flying. When I get on a plane I know it means adventure. Sometimes the adventure is done and you are going home, but there still was an adventure before.

Adventure and exploring is what I live for. When I am walking and I see something interesting off to the side I am willing to walk off the beaten trail and see whatever it was that interested me. Things that interest me are often different from what most people find interesting. I find war, old movies, travel, culture, the bush and other things interesting.

I think war is interesting for so many different reasons. I find it hard to believe that people can inflict so much pain onto other humans and things around them. I want to understand how people can do that to each other. I also find it interesting how people dealt with all the shit going on around them.  How people dealt with seeing their best friend die and still go on with life or sometimes not. Going into people’s homes and seeing a child killed would kill me; I imagine it killed/kills soldiers too.  I can't imagine seeing what soldiers saw/see. I have always wanted to talk to a WWII soldier and listen to their stories from the war.

Old movies interest me too. They make me want to be back in that time, when live was simpler, or so it seems. Mind you women didn't have as many rights. I love how the women dressed back in the 20's, 30's and 40's.

Travel and culture go hand in hand. I love to travel. I love seeing what is out there. All the different ways people live. Going somewhere hot is always nice too. When I went to the Dominican Republic, it was March. It was nice to escape the winter. I am not really in the travelly mood tonight. I am watching a war movie, so I am sort of feeling like that.

The bush interests me because of nature. I love walking around and looking at how the animals and the plants interact. I love walking and seeing an animal eating or drinking. I stand there and just watch. I try not to scare the animal off.

News:

Bomb damage in Tripoli. 17 May Libyan Oil Minister, Shukri Ghanem left Libya and entered into Tunisia by road. According to Libyan rebels the minister is on his way to a European country. According to the Libyan government the minister is in Tunisia on official business. Ghanem is also the head of Libya's National Oil Corporation.

Col. Gadaffi, his son Saif al-Islam and intelligence chief Abdullah al-Sanussi are the three people that the International Criminal Court (ICC) are thinking about issuing arrest warrants for. The ICC must still decide whether or not to issue the warrants.

Today was a long one. Sorry about that. I would also like to point-out that I am two for two this week! Let's see if I can keep it up. Always leave a comment. Later days :)

Sunscreen!!

Hey there folks!

It was really nice out on Saturday. I was wondering what the difference between sunscreen and sunblock. Hmm I don't know but I put sunscreen on my face. Whenever I put sunscreen or sunblock on it goes on my face.  I never put it on my legs. My legs take so long to tan. My upper body gets a tan much faster than my legs. ugh! Although I do get a wicked sandal tan.  I am sure that everyone wants to see my sandal tan so I added a nice photo from a few years ago. That is from when I went to Europe. I thought about fake tanning, but I am cheap. I cannot afford to spend 70 bucks a month for unlimited tanning minutes. The lotions are to expensive. You have to buy how many bottles just to get the right colour.

I had two jobs but one couldn't get the funding :( Now my dad will be on ass to get a second job. He nags like a woman! It is very annoying.

This week I have lots going on. I like being busy, it makes me feel like I am not wasting my day. Today was pretty laid back but the rest of the week won't be. Tomorrow I am hanging out with Sean. Wednesday is my friends birthday dinner. Unlike last time, I know for sure this is her birthday dinner. The night I went for fondue I wasn't sure if it was a birthday thing or not. I bought her a card just in case it was, but it wasn't. Now I am prepared.  Saturday I have my first shift of the summer! I never thought I would be excited to go back to the deli. I am only excited because it's money! Okay, so I'm not that busy but it is busier than last week.

I am thinking of taking up jogging again. I always say I am going to start but I never do. Today I am making a serious attempt to start. As a matter of fact I am going to go for my first jog/walk after I finish this blog.  I hate  the running part, but I love the feeling after I am done. I physically feel better and I feel accomplished. I know that's lame. I am lame.

Oh I heard my first lawn mower today! I think that is a sign of summer!! I actually don't mind cutting the grass. I get to be outside and enjoy the sun. I try to do that lots. I mean I am in Canada, how much fun do we really get :P

Last week I asked "If you needed facial reconstruction, would you get it? Would you be willing to take all the risks?" 77% said yes and 22% said no.  I am actually surprised by that. There a lot of risks, but personally I think it would be worth it to have my smell back.  Anyways the poll this week will be about summer! What do you think is a sign of summer?

News:

The International Monetary Fund head, Dominique Strauss-Kahn,  has been held in custody on charges of sexual assault. Strauss-Kahn was arrested Saturday after boarding a plane. He is accused of trying to rape a hotel maid.  Strauss-Kahn denies the charges. This run in with the law will most likely hurt his presidential election in France.

Lots is happening in Libya right now. The International Criminal Court wants an arrest warrant for Gaddafi and two others for crimes against humanity. The Libyan government has already said it will ignore the announcement.

That's all for today. My internet was down so I couldn't get my blog up earlier.

Late Night Blog

Hello!

I just realized that I did an extra ten awesome things! Oh well. Now I have to figure out something else to do for the next little bit. Maybe I will copy Philip Defranco and do a 30 blog movie review? Hmm. I think that is what I will do.

I will start it off with a movie called Snatch. According to IMDb, Snatch is "unscrupulous boxing promoters, violent bookmakers, a Russian gangster, incompetent amateur robbers, and supposedly Jewish jewelers fight to track down a priceless stolen diamond."

Personally I think it is funny. It is a British comedy directed by Guy Richie, Madonna's ex-husband. It stars Benicio Del Toro, Dennis Farina, Brad Pitt, Jason Statham etc. It's from 2000, so it's old but not that old.   Brad Pitt does a horrible Irish accent for his character Mickey, the ex-boxer. It is a very good mobster movie.  It has a lot of shooting, blood, dead bodies, fighting and swearing. Well if you are from Quebec it doesn't have swearing. If you like Snatch, you would like Rock'n'Rolla or vis versa. RocknRolla has Gerard Butler! Oh so sexy!!

My cousin has netflicks! I love it, most of the time. Tonight I wanted to watch District 9, It's Complicated, Monty Phyton and the Holy Grail but all of those were unavailable. I was like what the hell! Pain in my ass! I think I would get my moneys worth if I had it. It cost what, eight bucks a month? If I watched one movie a week, it would cost me two bucks a movie! I could/would watch more than one movie a week. Hell, tonight I watched two movies. Plus all the Big Bang Theory episodes I watch I would so get my moneys worth.

News:

The US has disappointed Libyan rebels because the US has stopped short of recognizing Libyan rebels as the country's legitimate government. The White House spokesman said that it would be "premature" to call them the country's legitimate government. The US also said that it is not up to the foreigners to make those kinds of decisions. Gaddafi taunted Nato troops by sending a message through the state TV, saying that he was in hiding. He is in a place where they "cannot reach" him.

That's all for today. If you have any movie ideas let me know.  As always leave a comment with any thoughts.

Tanning :)

Hey there folks,

Today was an interesting day. I got took the dogs for a walk today with my sister. That was nice. We tanned for a bit then met up with my dad and my little sister. We watched her swim and after we took her to the park. It was really nice to see her again.

I am watching Men Who Stare At Goats. I saw it in theaters, whenever that was. I forgot how funny this movie was. It is so strange, but that is what makes it so funny. Plus Ewan McGregor is really good looking. McGregor plays an American reporter. His accent comes out when he yells or is getting mad.

I was creeping the stats for my blog today. I found out that people in Canada, the US, Singapore, Germany, Latvia, Denmark, India and Russia have viewed my blog! That so cool!! I knew I would get views in Canada, well because I am from Canada. The US, well it's pretty close. My cousin is in Denmark so I think he is some of the views! Singapore, Germany, Latvia, India and Russia, that is so awesome!! Although I am sure that my polls help to attract views too.

Today's top ten awesome things:

  1. Crawling under piles of blankets on a cold night
  2. When the bus driver lets you off right close to your home
  3. When the Christmas tree lights are the only light in the room
  4. Putting clothes on fresh from the dryer
  5. Old people holding hands!!
  6. When characters in movies visits places you have been or know
  7. When a pet notices you are in a bad mood and comes to visit
  8. Dancing when you are home alone
  9. The night before I really big day
  10. When you finally finish/do something that has been on your mind forever!

News:

Col. Gaddafi made his first public appearance in two weeks. It was said to have been shot in the capital on Wednesday.  Gaddafi has not made a public appearance since April 30th, after Nato killed his youngest son in an air strike. In the footage, Gaddafi was in his trademark outfit, brown robes, dark sunglasses and a black hat.

Nato plans on carrying out 6,000 missions over Libya. The air strikes have helped secure rebels in their strongholds in eastern Libya. The extent of Gaddafi's grip on the western Libya is unknown.

Map10 people were killed after a magnitude -5.2 earthquake. Several buildings toppled in southern Spain near Lorca.  Cars lay crushed under tonnes of rubble. A hospital was evacuated as a precaution. The quake was followed by  a 4.4 magnitude aftershock.

The Spanish media say that dozens were injured.

That's all for today.  As always leave a comment with any thoughts. I just didn't feel like doing one last night. I didn't really want to do one tonight but I figured I better.

Job Hunting

Hey there folks,

I am starting to think that this blog might not get done every weekday...I try but some nights I just don't feel like doing it. I think I am going to start doing it whenever I feel the urge to blog. This past weekend I was sitting there "I should blog, nah it's the weekend." I think I don't blog here because I actually have stuff to do. When I was on res there was nothing to do.

Almost everyday since I have been back, I have been job hunting. I have dropped off at least 15 resumes. This sucks!! Today I dropped off my rehire form to Metro. I know I will get that job back, but it is not enough hours.  I also got an e-mail from the radio station here in town. I would be driving around town to different locations to talk about different activities going on around town. That is not really my cup of tea, but it could be interesting.

In the past few days I have had two people follow me on twitter...two people I don't know. Well I know one of them, but I never really talked to her. Oh well I like having followers, it makes me feel important.

Todays Top Ten Awesome Things:

  1. When kids get really excited.
  2. E-mailing yourself to remind you of things you have to do.
  3. When chapters in your book are really short.
  4. Seeing a dog or cat chase its tail.
  5. Finally finding the start of the tape.
  6. Walking through your home in the dark and not tripping or hitting something....pets
  7. Campfires
  8. Jumping in the lake or river after you come out of a hot sauna
  9. Laughing so hard you cry
  10. Skinny Dipping!!
I don't know about you guys, but I think it is so cute when kids get excited. They are so cute! I cannot stop reading in the middle of a chapter unless it's REALLY long. So I love when chapters are short. Seeing a cat or dog chase its tail is so cute! I hate when I am need tape I cannot find the start. I roll it around like ten times before I finally get the start. I hate when you wakeup in the night and have to go to the washroom or you are trying to sneak into your room at night without the lights. You are walking then you step on a cat or somethings.  Campfires, do I really need to explain that one?  Jumping in the lake or river after a sauna is so much fun! I love the run to the water! Laughing so hard you cry, who doesn't love that?Skinny dipping is so much fun!!

You know what is not awesome? When people use the last bit of milk then just leave the empty bag! Or when you call and text your parents and ask them if they are making stuff for dinner. They don't answer so you cook something, just as you are about to eat what you made because it has been two hours, they call. They tell you that they are making this nice dinner. It's like omg!! I am not waiting two hours for you! Now I'm in a bitchy mood. Cranky at the world.

Oh! Last weeks poll! I almost forgot. The question was which of the three leading parties do you like? Conservatives and NDP tied with three votes each! This weeks poll will be "If you needed facial reconstruction would you get it? Even with all the risks." Vote!

NEWS:

A man got a face transplant! Although he didn't get his sight back he got actually got his smell back! How amazing is that? The US army funded the surgery because they feel that if this surgery goes well, they might use it on  soldiers with major facial wounds.

That's it for today. Leave a comment with your thoughts or ideas. Sorry I missed a few days last week.

Fondue!

Hello there,

Tonight I went out for fondue with some friends. It was really fun. I met my friends new boyfriend! He was so nice! They really suit each other.  We played this game called....Thing...I  think. I can't remember but it was really fun.

May 6th, mixing the two days.

I had a pretty laid back day today. I cleaned, basically. I am being really lame now and getting Dierks Bentley songs. Man I am so tired. All this running around, looking for a job and hanging out with friends is really taking its toll on me.

This is going to be short! I am even mixing two days! That means I have to do 20 awesome things today! Oh dear thats going to be hard!

  1. The smell of new books!
  2. When you check your phone and see you have a text waiting for you :)
  3. Shoes!
  4. A good summer read!
  5. Movies in general
  6. A great CD to listen to all summer long
  7. The Easter Bunny....aka Abbytard :)
  8. Getting tickets to a concert you really wanted to go to
  9. Graduating
  10. Getting all your lost songs back onto Itunes!
  11. Dancing to a good song!
  12. Taking off your make-up after hours of wearing it
  13. Free samples of food....Cosco
  14. Farting and getting away with it!
  15. The smell of baroque
  16. The smell of wood smoke
  17. Putting things in your shoes so you don't forget them later
  18. Finally figuring out what that one song is called
  19. Taking a second look at something and realizing it is not as scary as it looked before.
  20. Breaking into your own house because you locked yourself out.
I was on a role tonight! I should write my other ideas down so I have them for tomorrow!!

News:

The American government is going through Osama Bin Laden's things. They are going through DVDs and documents from Bin Laden's compound in Pakistan. Allegedly there was an attack in the making against the American US railway system.

Gay couples in Brazil have awarded gay couples new rights. In Brazil's Supreme Court 10-0 voted that gay couples should have the same financial and social rights as straight couples. :) :) I am glad!! Brazil is the world's most populous Roman Catholic nation, with about 60,000 gay couples.

After the elections on Monday, many leaders stepped down. Micheal Ignatieff stepped down after having the Liberals lowest turnout yet! Ignatieff is now taking a job at University of Toronto's Messey College. Bloc Quebecois leader Gilles Duceppe quit after Bloc Quebecois had its lowest supporters. The NDP took a huge amount of voters in Quebec away from Bloc Quebecois.

That's all for yesterday and today. I will try and keep up with my blogs. It's hard! I am getting lazy. Although I did last longer than I thought I was going to. I thought maybe a week or two but it has been around 50 days :O craziness!! Leave a comment with your thoughts on anything.

Hello,

Today was a nice day! it was so nice out :) I biked up to my friends house and almost died. I was biking up the hill and had to get off and lay down. We watched the King's Speech. Ah I love that movie! It is so good! Going down the hill is always more fun than going up. You go whipping  by, people are looking at you like you are some crazy person. Then there is when you go down the hill. haha I am so funny, no not really.

Tonight I made my sister listen to Friday by Rebecca Black. Abbytard made me listen to it. I am sorry Tanis I took your innocence away from you. She came to visit and I show her Rebecca Black. Lucky her eh?

Today's top ten awesome shows I watch:

  1. CRAIG FERGUSON
  2. Band of Brothers
  3. The Pacific
  4. Big Bang Theory
  5. How I Met Your Mother
  6. Sex and the City
  7. House Hunters International
  8. American Dad
  9. Anderson Cooper 360
  10. Law and Order: SVU
News:

Daraa, SyriaSyrian officials confirmed that they are holding British Columbia journalist Dorothy Parvaz. She was detained upon her arrival in Damascus six days ago. Parvaz had been heard from since she arrives.  Since the protests began in Syria the restrictions for journalists have been increasing.

Libya
The International Criminal Court's chief prosecutor is seeking three arrest warrants in the investigation into crimes against humanity in Libya.

The names of the three people to be arrested have not been relasesd but the UN Security Council says the crimes are continuing.  Gaddafi forces have been fighting anti-government uprisings for two months.   Between 500 and 700 people are estimated to have been killed in Libya in February alone!

Sorry it's late. I will write another one tonight after I come home, so it might be late.

Today is full of news!

Hello there,

I don't know about you but today was full of news! Stephan Harper has the majority government and Osama Bin Laden is dead.  I don't know about you but I think this is interesting news.

First of all I don't know why everyone is all in a huff because NDP didn't win. I don't get it. The NDP offers everyone all this money, but where do they expect to get it? Harper has kept Canada relatively unaffected by the recession. I normally don't mind the Liberals, but Ignatieff drives me crazy. I loved his speech in Sudbury. Rise up! "This is about our country, this is about our democracy!" I thought it was a great speech. I totally agree with it, just not in the scene that he wanted.  I personally think that if the Liberals would have won, it would have been a win for Ignatieff not the the Liberals.

The NDP promises all this money to everyone, but where are they going to get this money from? From pensions and schooling. Maybe if we elect them into power in our province young people will see that the NDP is full of shit. I hope it doesn't come to that.

I am very happy that people young people are finally interested in Canadian politics, even if I don't agree with them.  Someone on facebook wrote that they are unhappy about Conservatives winning. I wrote that I happened to like it, and people seem to be very upset with me. I glad that they are taking an interest. People say "while I dont know anything about it so I dont want to vote and make the wrong decision." Personally I would rather make a wrong decision than to not have made one at all. I am VERY ashamed to say that I did not vote. I tried too but I couldn't get to my poll station. I went to two different polling stations.  I can't even vote in October! I will not be home. I guess I will have to mail in my vote. Like I said, VERY VERY ashamed that I did not vote! Here I am telling everyone vote, vote! Then I don't, I tried but it never happened.

Enough about Canadian politics for now. The big story all over the world is that Osama Bin Laden is dead.  Obama said that since Bin Laden is dead it is a "good day for America." Bin Laden was killed by  US special forces in Abbottabad, Pakistan.  His body was buried at sea.  Bin Laden allegedly ordered the 911 attacks, which made him top the US most wanted list.  Many people think that his death will help with the fight against terrorism.

Personally I think that we are in for a rough couple of months, if not a year. I think that Bin Laden's followers will be mad at the US for killing their leader and will retaliate with violence.

That's all for news today.

I had a nice coming home get together with my friends tonight. We had sushi and ice cream after. I think Sean, Heather, Harley and I were the only ones that enjoyed it. I felt bad for Nicole, Kaitlyn, Candace and Jake. I don't think they liked it.

Last night I watched the first Lord of the Rings. I am watching all of them this week. I like the second one the best. It goes Two Towers, Fellowship of the Ring, then Return of the King.  All great but greatness in that order.

Last weeks poll. Which world wonder do you want to see? Stonehenge won with 5 votes. The Eiffel Tower,   Pyramids of Giza, Easter Island Statues and  the Colosseum came in second with 4 votes each. In third place was Taj Mahal, Petra, and the Acropolis. The new poll for this week is which of the three leading parties do like best? Anyways that all for my ramble today.

Ten Awesome things of the day:
  1. Having the right to vote
