Bedouin Soundclash!

Hello ladies and gentlemen.

Tonight I'm going to see Bedouin Soundclash! I am so excited! I have always like them. They are a band I never thought I'd see live but since I was given the chance I thought I would take it.  If you don't know them, they sing when the night feels me song, walls fall down and st andrews. They are good songs, every beachy.

I really want to travel! Like it is killing me! If I never travel again in my life I would be so upset. I am so determined to travel so I will make it happen. If my sister and I don't end up going to Russia or Brazil I will go somewhere with or with her. Love you tanis! Sometimes I think she forgets that she has been to Europe. Sometimes I forget that Portugal is in Europe. Mind you  I was 13...I think. I will make myself travel. I can save money like my life depends on it, I collect airmiles and aeroplan miles. Last night I was up until 1:30ish looking at packing Europe websites. I have been to Europe but only four countries. Sorry thats my little rant about travelling. I get in these moods where all I can think about is travelling.

Who is excited for the royal wedding?! I am! Who knows when the next royal wedding in England will be? I don't see Prince Harry getting married anytime soon.

As of April 11th full faced veils will be banned in France.  People are scared that it will affect tourism. Personally I don't think it will. I don't see France having that main Muslims travelling to France. They might have a bit from Morocco and the odd few  that already live there.

Thats all for today. I  really need to work on my homework. It's starting to pile up.  Leave a comment if you feel like it :)

Hey folks,

Today I'm feeling much better. omg last night I had the hardest time falling asleep! I was hot but cold at the same time! It was bad. Then once I fell asleep I had some messed up dreams.

I watch a show called "How I Met Your Mother" I LOVE that show! My friend Bean got my hooked on it. Last summer I borrowed his seasons.  I watched season 1 to season 3. I have been trying to watch it this year but I always forget! It's on at 8 on CBS, but I never remember it's on until like 9 and by that time its over. I hate how cable doesn't repeat show!! I do like the channels we have here. I have all the good ones in my room. I have history, home and garden, discovery, CNN and teletoon. Well I have more but those are the good ones.

Enough about my TV watching. The last month of school is always the busiest. I find this semester more busy than first semester. I don't know if its just me. I have so many things due. In one class I only have two things due but the project is huge then we have to present it! The oral presentation is okay, its the business plan that is killer!

I have this habit were I buy books every time I am in Chapters. My book shelf is so full it's crazy! If I was a faster reader it would be okay. At least then I would have read half of them. I am so slow! Once I start a book I have to finish it, even if it's boring. An example is the book "Kidnapped" by Robert Louis Stevenson. He also wrote "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". Kidnapped is really boring so far, but I cannot stop reading it. I left it at home, it will be my summer read. Right now I currently have four books on the go; Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Translator, The Bourne Supremacy and Kidnapped.  I have been reading The Bourne Supremacy for oh I don't know two years now. I just have to finish books that I start. I don't know what it is.

News:

An international conference on Libya, meeting in London, agrees that Col Gaddafi has lost all legitimacy. Member states agree to set up a contact group to help decide Libya's political future. Pro Gaddafi forces have launched a new offensive in eastern Libya, driving rebels from the recently captured towns of Bin Jawad and Ras Lanuf.

In Japan there was an aftershock on Sunday? I cant remember. Reactor 1 has damage to the core from cooling problems. Building holed by gas explosion. Highly radioactive water detected in reactor. Reactor 2 has  damage to the core from cooling problems. Building holed by gas blast; containment damage suspected. Highly radioactive water detected in reactor and adjoining tunnel. Reactor 3 had damage to the core from cooling problems. Building holed by gas blast; containment damage possible. Spent fuel pond partly refilled with water after running low. Highly radioactive water detected in reactor. Reactor 4 had shut down prior to quake. Fires and explosion in spent fuel pond; water level partly restored. Reactors 5 & 6 are shut down. Temperature of spent fuel pools now lowered after rising high.

Sickness :(

Hi there folks.

Today I have been sick. It was not a good day. All day I felt like I was going to throw up. I hate that feelings! I have been puke free since this past April. Just as my sister and Abbytard, they had to deal with me. Anyways we won't get into that.  I felt really sick but I stuck it out and went and wrote a test. I probably didn't do the best since I was focusing on not getting sick.

I sat at home today after my test and watched the history channel! I love that channel, I like it more than home and garden :O Last night I watched Flags of Our Fathers, I cried at the end! As always! I really like history,  I think we can learn a lot from it. We see what happens when people lose faith in other humans. I don't feel like getting into that right now.

I got a letter from my dad today! It was so nice!! I knew he was sending me my stuff but I forgot. I was pleasantly surprised! He put a little note in it, it made my day.

The poll I had at the bottom of "Which continent would you like to visit" is done. Europe won! Now you can vote on "Which movie do you like." You can vote on movies that were popular at the Academy Awards.

I should be doing homework so I am not doing a news thing today. Whenever I get my laptop charger back I will update you guys. I am also on Abbytard computer so I shouldn't be wasting time.  Leave a comment if you have any favourite movies that you think I should watch. Peace out

A Few Days Late

Hello,

I know I am a few days late. I guess I will update you on my weekend.  I went to Sudbury! It felt nice to be back in Sudbury. The first night I went to my sisters place. We had a get together. It as so much fun everyone again.  Saturday I went to my aunt and uncles for dinner. Saturday night my sister and I watched the Lord of the Rings, Two Towers.

I don't know if anyone had heard but there was an aftershock in Japan the quake was 6.5 magnitude. There  is tsunami warning for north-eastern Japan. I will not be doing a huge blog today because I am too lazy and I am on Abbytards computer because I left my laptop charger is at my sisters.

Anyways that's all for today. Leave a comment if you feel like it.

Hump Day!

Happy Hump Day!

It's Wednesday! That means we are half way through out week! So much closer to the weekend! Woot woot!  When I say hump day I mean we are over the hump, not other things.

Today I'm at work today. I work at the food bank :) There is someone here that looks like James Franco! He is also super nice! Today is a good day! I like it when I have friendly people who come it makes my day. I don't like how people think there is a stigma attached to going to the food bank. Food banks are here to help students.

I have been watching "Jake and Amir" on College Humor. They are so funny. Every Tuesday and Thursday they upload a new video.  You know what, today has been a good day. It's beautiful outside, the sun is shining and it's not to cold.

My sister and I have been trying to plan a trip in 2014. We are having trouble picking where to go. Russia for the Olympics or Brazil for the FIFA world cup. There are pros and cons to each. We still have lots of time to figure out where we want to go. All I know is that where ever we go I will be happy to knock off another country. I am willing to add any country to my list of places I have been. Leave a comment with you thoughts on where we should go.

For me it has been an uneventful day but for the rest of the world not to much. Mind you it's always that way.

On a sadder note, Elizabeth Taylor died today at the age of 79. She was an actress in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Paul Newman. Love him! She left behind four children. She was also known for her many marriages, seven, but who's counting. Her movie career spanned the 1940's to the 2000's. She created the "Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation".  She will be missed.

There was a deadly bomb attack in Jerusalem, in Israel. One person has died and thirty people are injured from the bus bomb. Israel has been relatively quiet for the past few years. They have also been stable compared to the nations around them such as Syria and Egypt. The explosion happened right in the heart of west Jerusalem - a city that has, for many years, been relatively peaceful.

Vote...please!

Hey, hey!

I go through phases where I am obsessed with different things. Sometimes it's songs, movies, actors. etc. For almost 2 years now I have been obsessed with the British. Ever since I went there I have been like "England, Britain" anything British. Right now the song I am obsessed with is the new Black Eyed Peas song called "Just Can't Get Enough". The link is at the bottom.  Before that song it was the band Boyce Avenue! They do acoustic  covers of popular songs. Plus the main singer is really good looking. That helps too.

I am really excited to be going to Sudbury to visit my family this weekend! It will be so much as always. I get to see my sister! Of course my aunt and uncle too. I love going to my aunt and uncles, my uncle loves to cook! He always sends me home with leftovers! I also like going to my sisters. It's always fun. We have great conversations during the smoke breaks we go on. Neither of us smoke but her roommate does. We go out and talk and watch people walking by. Yeah we are creepers.

News for the day. Everybody's favourite part I know.

Japan's vegetables and fish have been affected by the radiation from the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Everyone knew that their food would be affected. Countries such as Canada, the USA and Britain have increased the inspection of Japanese food or stopped importing Japanese food altogether. I can't remember which country is doing what.  All six reactors have power lines attached to them. This means that the plant now has power to help cool and fill the reactors so that the rods can be kept cool. Which stops them from melting and releasing radiation.

In Libya A US warplane crash-landed while taking part in the US-led military campaign to enforce a no-fly zone. The US-led coalition has been in action over Libya since Saturday, enforcing a UN resolution to protect civilians from Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi's forces. The US says it will transfer its leading role on Libya within days, to share the burden among international forces. The US and the UK are reported to be in favour of Nato leading the campaign, but Turkey is uneasy about it and France has objected because it is worried this may alienate Arab nations, whose support is crucial to the campaign. Divisions have also emerged among the allies as to whether Col Gaddafi is a legitimate target.

In Canada, the federal budget is being discussed. Liberal leaders rejected the Conservatives budget. This will most likely lead to an election this October.

If you are 18, please vote. I don't care if you don't follow politics or if you don't care but vote. It's our democratic right and duty!  Look at what's happening all over the Arabic world! They are all fighting so they can have a say in how their government is run! People who don't vote are just being selfish. People are literally dying so they can vote, and what do most Canadians do on election day? They watch T.V or they are just to "busy" to vote. Nice of them.  Vote because it is you democratic duty to! If you don't you are a dumbass.

Lazy Mondays

Mondays, ugh. I hate Mondays. Although I do enjoy having a late start on Monday.

This past weekend was very good overall. Friday I went to the movies with my friends, Alex and Maude :) WE saw "Beastly". The movie was okay, the conversation from the movie theater to home was so much fun! I learnt many things that night.  Saturday Abbytard got back so I visited with her. We went out with her parents, rented a movie and had a sleepover. Yes, we had a sleepover even though we live together. Sunday, we returned the movie. It took us an hour and half just to go down the hill! I hate buses sometimes! We also went for a hike to the falls. They were so nice. That was my weekend. Lame I know.

I was looking at studying French in Paris in a few years so I sent an e-mail asking for prices and I just got this huge e-mail about the prices. It's so expensive! The price doesn't even include housing! Ah good thing I have a long time to save.

News for today.

In Libya right now, allied forces are carrying out air strike against the rebels not Col. Gaddafi himself, although Gaddafi's compounds are the places being hit in  the air strike attacks. The Libyan government has ordered another ceasefire
Japan's nuclear power plant Fukushima Daiichi is still a serious threat to people around it. The death toll from the tsunami has risen to almost 9,000 and 13,000 people still missing. This weekend three people were found but they has been at a shelter before. They went back to look for family members when buildings collapsed on them.
That's all for today. I'm feeling really lazy today so it's not much of a blog today but oh well. Leave a comment  if I missed something or if you just feel like it.

Who Doesn't love Friday?

TGIF!

Last night on residence was a huge party as you can imagine. Even though it was raining, people were still outside partying up a storm.  I had my window open, as usual, and all I could hear were people hooting and wooting. I was ike damn you homework! Today was a boring day, nothing exciting really happened. Mind you nothing my days are always boring.

This week there have been people visiting the university. So all week I have been going to class and there is a wall of high school kids. I feel like I am back at high school, when the stupid grade 9ers would walk really slow in the hallways. Monday morning I was late for class so I'm rushing out the doors across the parking lot into the school only to find a crowd of high school kids and their parents! My first thought was "kill me now!”  For the past few days around 3-4 pm there have been tours going on around residence. I JUST realized why they came this week, it's their March break!

This week went by really fast considering my chum Abbytard is coming back! I haven't seen Abbytard in two weeks! It feels like it has been forever! " I'm stuck on you! You and me baby we're stuck like glue!" That's our song! Every time I hear it I think of her! I don't know what I will do this summer, I mean it's only been two weeks and I'm lost. Oh God I cannot even think about that right now.

It's strange, when I am back home I want to be here. When I'm here I want to be back home only for my friends. It's strange. No matter where I am I'm missing someone. I guess that's part of life. I know I'm not the only one to go through this. Everyone who goes away for school must experience something similar.

I think that I am going to add little bits of news at the end of my blogs. I feel like people my age and older just don't care and don't know what's going on. I find that sad. How can we help if we don't know what's happening.

Japan. I forgot to mention that because of the earthquake last week, Japan has been having trouble with their nuclear power plants.  The one that has been causing the most problems is the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. The Japanese government has asked its citizens to not be within 30 kms of the plant because of the radiation it is giving off. The Americans who are at the plant helping cover the rods with up water say that people shouldn’t not be within 80 kms of the plant. I think, I can't remember.

The United Nations <3 have backed a no fly zone over Libya! This is good because if Col Gaddafi puts planes in the air to bomb the protesters, military forces from other countries with take action against him! It took long enough!

Leave me a comment and let me know what your thoughts are on anything I talked about today, or yesterday or the day before. Whatever you want :) Peace out and have a good weekend!

Saint Patrick's Day

Today is March 17th! Saint Patrick's Day or in my friends case her birthday!

For me, my birthday is just another day in the year. For Andrea, it's St. Pats day. She lucks out, there is always something going on for her birthday. This year happens to be a special year, it's her 19th birthday. She is now legally allowed to drink! What better way to celebrate your 19th birthday than hitting the bars! Her first day as a legal drinker is on the perfect day.

As we all know, St. Patrick's day is an excuse to get drunk no matter what day it is. Monday, Tuesday it doesn't matter. Today I forgot it was St. Patrick's, when I went to school people were wearing green, some people had shamrocks painted on their faces, others had St. Patrick's day glasses or head bands on. When you think about it, why do we even celebrate it? It's an Irish holiday, the Irish don't celebrate Canada Day. I guess it doesn't really matter. Besides who doesn't like to have a drink on St.Patrick's day?

On a different note, I am going to update you on what is going on in the world right now.  There are three major things going on right now. The continuous trouble in Japan from the earthquake last week, the revolution in Libya, and unrest in Bahrain.

Let us start off with Japan. Since the earthquake last week Japan has been dealing with the destruction from the earthquake and the tsunami. American, British and other nations have sent rescue workers to help search for survivors of the tsunami. Last night on Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN, Anderson Cooper said that the rescue workers have been recovering more bodies than survivors. Since the tsunami washed people away, they could be anywhere.

The revolution in Libya has been going on for about a month. Col Gaddafi, the ruler of Libya, has been in power since 1969! After Tunis and Egypt rebelled and got rid of their regimes Libya thought they would do the same. Col Gaddafi is a brutal leader. The earthquake in Japan is the best thing to happen for Gaddafi because it takes the eyes off him and puts them on Japan. People loyal to Gaddafi have allegedly started launching their first bombing raids on the main rebel-held city of  Benghazi.

I don't know much about the unrest in Bahrain. All I know is that Saudi Arabia has sent troops into Bahrain to help deal with the protesters. Someone thinks that since Saudi Arabian troops are in Bahrain that it is a take over. I am not sure the details. All I know is that both the protesters and the government are blaming each other for the violence.  Both are claiming that the other side started the violence. According to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)  government troops have been denying access to hospitals to injured protesters. The Bahrain government claims that it is the protesters denying access to the hospital, even though there are pictures of the government denying access.

Anyways that's all I have for today. Happy Birthday Andrea! I hope you don't get to drunk that you can't remember it. I would just like to say that even though there is so much negative news going on right now, I still think that people are more good than bad. Sometimes I think people forget that.
